Neighbor is letting me drive this beautiful 944 for the weekend. He’s the first owner and won it brand new in a radio competition. Car is completely stock. It’s not fast but lots of fun. AMA.

Sweet deal. I had to buy my way into being able to drive sports cars (meaning I had to buy the sports cars).
Which powertrain, and how are the cosmetics? Has it been kept and cared for in terms of wear and tear?

Drove a stock 944 back in the 80s - are the shifter throws as long as I remember? The clutch was good, the steering could have been more direct. But these cars are 30 years old now, so it’s hardly fair to compare them.

Haha it’s the most satisfying shift. And yes. feels 6-8 inches between shift points at the grip point. I’ll get a picture if I have a chance.

It's the half a V8 4 banger. The interior is in super super nice condition. The air conditioning doesn't work and the window switch on the right window doesn't work but can be moved via the driver. It's garage kept and I love it.

Well apparently neither one of his kids really care about the car so I like him a lot. I asked it and he was like absolutely come grab it whenever.

That’s how I got my AH Sprite. The guys kids didn’t care to fix it up, he sold it to my for half his asking price
